To be a Chef

To be a Chef

By Rita H. Chen

Languishing over what to write
In hopes that there’s no oversight
Still what happens more often than not
Two or three items from the list forgot

Carefully gauging how long it will take
One minute the difference a good dish make
Organizing items on the plate just right
Knowing it will bring savvy diners delight

Flavours and textures that makes one crave
One bite and one sip that makes one rave
One patting of stomach to show one’s joy
Delicious meals enjoyed by girls and boys

Care in preparation and seasoning show
Heart and pride in the kitchen flow
Execution is what proves the skill
Finesse is what true chefs instill

Rita’s Musings: Not sure how I feel about these acrostic poems. I like the “CHEF” and “LIST” ones but am not entirely satisfied with the other ones.
