You and I Can Dance

You and I Can Dance

By Rita H. Chen

You and I
Life is conformity
“Fitting in”
“Adhering”
“Adjusting”
Being socially accepted

But then, you smile
and “I” return

The Glass Ballerina
Dancing lightly
Toes swift
Barely touching the ground
as she flies

A charming prince
encircles with firm arms
Supple muscles
Supporting lifts

A dancer dreams

Rita’s Musings: Some random freestyle poems that I found in my diary. Can’t really remember what inspired them unfortunately…
